Students from both campuses are integrated into their local communities for community based instruction. The students go into the community one on one with their instructors so they have opportunities to increase their independence and social skills within the community. Our students participate in activities such as grocery shopping, selecting and making purchases at a local convenience stores, ordering , eating and paying for meals at local restaurants. In addition, many of our students participate within work study programs with our local community partners.
At the South Campus we work with several community partners including, The Microtell Inn & Suites by Wyndham, The Courtyard Marriot, Springfield, Fairfield Inn & Suites Philadelphia Broomall/Newtown Square, Johnny’s Pizza , Dina Summa’s on MacDade, Swarthmore Pizza, St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, and St. Stephen’s Blessing Bags for Children
At the North Campus, our community partners include Dock Mennonite Academy, Advent Harleysville, Beanbag Food Program, Styles Unlimited Hair Salon and Spa, and Shepherd’s Shelf.
We cannot thank our community partners enough for all that they do and the opportunities that they provide for our students. We look forward to working with many more community partners in the future.
